The Sex role theory is one that is not a feminist theory and argues that because boys and girls socialized differently boys are more likely to become criminals than girls. The main fact that women are supervised more frequently than boys and are controlled a lot more as well, limits the number of opportunities to be deviant. On the contrary with boys, they are completely socialized to be rougher, tougher, and aggressive which makes deviance more likely.
In addition Talcott Parsons argued that because females are a lot more expressive, they carry this "expressive role" in the family, women tend to care for their children and look after their emotional needs of their husbands. Girls tendencies because of the way we are brought up, generates internalization of such values such as caring and empathy, reducing the likelihood of a young girl or women to commit crime simply because a caring and empathetic attitude towards others supersedes causing harm to others. I find myself to be an emphatic person. I Love my daughter, my nephew, my family and people.
